Tahoe Arts, Professional Theatre in Residence was formed in 1996 by Lev and Susane Tagayev. The partnership was literally founded in the theatre. After Lev and Susane moved up to Tahoe (Lev from New York and Suzie from Seattle), they met during the Tahoe Players production of Fiddler on the Roof in 1993. Since that time, they have worked to realize a joint dream: to bring the finest in professional quality theatre to the North Lake Tahoe and regional area utilizing the wonderful local theatrical talent that already exists in our community. The goal of Tahoe Arts, was simply to raise the level of existing community productions and provide professional standards for local talent and we have done so for the last nine years. With over sixty years of professional and semi-professional theatrical experience between them, Lev and Susane believe strongly that the arts community as a whole should work together to provide the best in quality entertainment for the entire area. With limited resources, they have mounted some of the finest theatrical productions in this area: Oliver (1996), Cabaret (1997), Rats and Line (1998), Man of La Mancha (1999), Camelot (2000), A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (2000), Nunsense (2001), Into the Woods (2001), Jekyll and Hyde (2002), |

Passion (2003-Piper's Opera House), and most recently, The Sound of Music which opened at Carson City Community Center and headlined at Caesars Tahoe in November of 2004. |
